I was chasing them around in my view finder using manual focus...it was a great abdominal workout

I took the two shots above handholding my 100-400 in manual focus for real. I was able to follow them in my viewfinder but could not keep an auto focus point on them long enough to lock focus so I went to manual focus then all I did was manual focus and track them in my viewfinder until the dragonfly came into focused than hit the trigger. It took me a bit to time my eye and shutter button finger together to get the shot but the time spent payed off
