Just a little BMW 125i, very competent little car.

This was shot for an online review after a days road trip. Single flash and some layered/blended exposures.

Nice colors and blending. For composition I would have rather seen the car on the left driving "into" the image instead of out of it.

Cheers, I keep seeing little errors in the blending, but they are small and you have to know where to look :)

In theory yes, if I was following traditional "rules" then it would be good to leave more room in front of the car. But at some point you have to leave those ideas behind and try something different.

But it's no longer different? People here have been doing that for so long that "Going out" has become the rule. Be a rebel & go ahead & break it. ; )

Boring and traditional as the new different and unique?
I can't see it catching on :)

My eye first goes to the car, because it's white, but then I find my self drawn to the left top corner of the image for some reason and it's the rear of the car and IMO it would be better if what I end up looking at was in front of the car since it's a quartering towards shot of the car.

I don't care about rules but I do like good composition and I think this misses that.

Agreed. Breaking rules is great when it works. Just doesn't work here, for me personally. Everything is spot on, just would prefer the car in the left quarter of the frame.

looks nice and pleasant to look at as a car reader.

im not a fan of the composition and i think 1 more flash towards the back would be nice

I think your composition would work if you cropped the top and bottom out to have a panoramic ratio

I agree with another light on the rear of the car. Also my eye is drawn to the outcrop of land and it has a slight white halo on it which is not pleasing to my eye.

Some good feedback guys!

I still like the composition with it parked to the right of the frame, but I think the over bright fence and ground behind the car was drawing the eye to the wrong places.
You naturally go light to dark, then back to light, and your eye was being drawn away from the car into the empty ground behind it.

I also like the idea of wider crop ratio, so here it is with a few tweaks. Still not perfect, but I think it does a better job of showing the car.

I'm in agreement with others. The car on the right is just not working for me. Not only do I not like the composition of it being on the right, but I think you're missing the point of its angle. You've angled the car so that you can accentuate the front, but by putting it on the right side of the frame, you're seeing less of the grill and its front/left fender area. Imagine the car on the left at the same angle, and you now can see more lines and styling of the front of the car.

Me too, I'd have had it to the left, and I would have also shot it from a slightly lower angle, but that's me.

Great shot! Could use a lower angle to show the power of the machine aka car and also either center the car or put it hard left in my opinion. Could use a little warming on the back end of the car, its a tad cool for the warm feel of the sunset.
