Hi,

I would like to start a thread sharing techniques for shooting people in black and white settings. I don't think it is my strong side as I have not yet established my own style(like i had with color shots) and I would love to hear some feedback from people in respond to my work and also see theirs. Please share a technique u like to use or a specific approach to black and white shooting.

This thread is all about people. No environments please...

Everyone who has done it long enough tend to have his/her own style...
Like a preferred way to post process or shoot. For example, when it comes to color photography I do very similar passes in PS in post production. I did it enough that people on sites like Deviant Art that watch me, can recognize my work without seeing my name. Its kind of cool... but i do not have that when it comes to B&W.

I shoot witha Leica M Monochrom and use CS6. I usually adjust contrast, density and other basic adjustments.

I'd say I had a style, high contrast, lots of texture, photojournalism, but, I'm about to try some side lit portraits of my lad, just practiced getting the flash right on one of his toys...
