Give Me Shelter ... B-17

With temperatures soaring above 100 F I sought shelter under the port wing of the Douglas Aircraft built B-17G Flying Fortress "Texas Raiders".

Built in Long Beach, California under license from Boeing Aircraft Corporation, B-17G-95-DL 44-83872 was delivered to the US Army Air Corps on July 12, 1945.

Thanks to the fine folks of the Commemorative Air Force - Gulf Coast Wing, who volunteer of themselves to keep this piece of history in the air.
