Hey Guys,

Ever have a piece of equipment that you just can't figure out?

So my Manfrotto RH353 Reflector Holder with Mini Grip Head - has beaten me. I can't seem to find a way to attach it to a light stand.

I have two manfrotto nano stands where the top section is too small - http://www.amazon.com …rds=manfrotto+light+stand (external link)

A neewer small light stand - http://www.amazon.com …sr=1&keywords=light+stand (external link) - also too small top section

I also have a Ravelli air cushioned light stand - http://www.amazon.com …=oh_aui_search_detailpage (external link) - top section has a tightening knob so it doesn't go over the top section.

I also have an avenger c-stand which is relegated to strobe duty (if a reflector falls I'm fine, if a strobe falls I'm not so I trust this stand the most)

Now I'm looking for something that has both a .5 or .75 stand section which I might be special and just can't find. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I have a session upcoming that I could really use this for.

Thank you for your help!!

Unscrew the handle fully until its detached and then grip it on the Ravelli stand below the knob and tighten it again.

Yes.

Or, extend the length of the stands' top spigot by screwing on an extra (female) spigot. That's 0.5 in diameter but now 5 cm in length. Don't be tempted to fly anything heavier than a reflector . . .

Thanks so much guys!

I like this option OceanRipple - i did a quick search and came up with this, think this would work?

http://www.amazon.com …n+female+spigot+manfrotto (external link)

I also have a pistol grip for my c-stand which has a 3/8 spigot which would be awesome to use a reflector holder with so this would fit both needs, both on the stands and the pistol grip. I would sandbag it and not use anything heavier than a 5-1 reflector with it. Just want to make sure it works.

Hi,

First, Nixland's reply is the orthodox solution.

The adapter:
http://www.amazon.com …n+female+spigot+manfrotto (external link)

might not be ideal, because it seems to effectively introduce a wider collar in the middle of what would otherwise be a 5/8 in column.

Also, an addendum: where I said "That's 0.5 in diameter" it should have been "That's 5/8 in diameter". So please verify that the Mini Grip Head will grip 5/8 in securely.
If it does, then one of these:
http://www.bhphotovideo.com …&InitialSearch=yes&sts=pi (external link)
added to your stand's top fitting, should help.
Tx

Thanks again guys, I'll play around with it tonight and see what I can come up with but I again appreciate the info, this is a huge help! I have a ton of gear that I can all figure out but this dumb reflector holder got the best of me.
