I like this program but it hacks me off - if I leave it for a few minutes, when I click just about anything on my return . Nothing happens, then after a while it says its not responding and then eventually kick starts itself and works again.:rolleyes::rolleyes:

I am running Windows 7 home premium, with the latest updates. Mt laptop Is a :-
Sony Vaio
Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2630QM CPU @ 2.00GHz Max in Turbo Boost mode 2.9GHz
Intel Core i7-2630QM @ 2.00GHz check on computer in Vaio Care??
NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M with 4 GB RAM and 1 GB Dediicated Video Ram .
8GB Ram.
500 GB Samsung 850 EVO SSD. Sata III. 6Gb/s Controller in Laptop.

So it should be OK to run this . The files are Raw ex a 5D3. So circa 22 to 28 MB each with say 400 max in a shoot.

Has anyone else got this problem? Or any ideas.
I have just reloaded the OS and installed this new disc , the previous one was a Sony 500GB 7,200 Sata II or 3 GB/s.
I am hoping this problem was resolved by a complete recovery from Sony recovery discs.

The only thing was the recovery disc came bundeled with Elements 9 , so I was told to just load it, but not open it and leave it dormant.
Could that mess things up?

There was about 100GB to 150Gb free disc space.
Other running software is Portraiture plug in, neither of the latter have a problem running if say I have DPP4 running or not.
Sometimes I might have Outlook in Office 2010 sitting idle - but doesnt seem to improve if its not loaded.

Any ideas?

A quick update
Having done a fresh reinstall from scratch it no longer freezes???
I wish I could remember which I loaded first DPP4 or Elements 13.

I was using Elements 11 , upgraded from Elements 9 ( unavoidable bloatware)
This time yes Elements 9 got unavaiofdably loaded but was never opened.

I have that happen from time to time with practically all the programs. I think it just means that Windows stinks and isn't very smart. What I think is going on is Windows is reading and writing to the hard drive and there aren't enough resources left to run the programs until the hard drive operations finish.

Oh well maybe you are right and the fact I swapped the HDD for the Sammy 850 Evo, and its so quick it freed up the resources.
Good as gold now :)
