It almost makes me sad to post this beautiful piece of kit for sale because it has served me so well over the years but it is time to let someone else enjoy it as much as I have. I have been producing professional level automotive, real estate, and all kinds of other photography with it for the last 3 years. Prior to me this lens was sitting in my college professors closet just peacefully collecting dust after he had bought it BRAND NEW for 2899.99 in 1980.....that would have been an absurdly expensive lens for the time and even when compared to todays pricing. I had the original box at one point but sadly lost it in my move to my new home. The original Canon leather+suede hardshell case is like nothing you have ever seen or will likely ever see given by Canon for free with a product. Their equivalent now is those suede draw string style bags (lame).
Anyways long story short the lens is in absolutely flawless condition as you will see below OTHER then the zoom ring's rubber "band" that circles the barrel is slightly "loose" as I would imagine over the years it just lost it's taughtness around the metal. It does not what so ever effect the function or operation of the lens, just for full disclosure sake I figured I would mention it. As you can see in the photos it's barely even noticible from an aesthetic standpoint.

Only reason I am moving on is I needed to jump to a slightly wider lens (16-35) for a new contract that I just picked up and can't justify having both pieces of glass overlapping each other.I have done a few side by side comparisons at 20mm @f.28 and the two lenses are almost IDENTICAL! It's amazing how a 37 year old lens that was originally created for film photography of the highest caliber still performs so darn well with quick auto focus motors rivalling todays' lenses.....
