I'm selling my 400mm 5.6L because I will be purchasing a 500mm IS in the near future. This lens is in excellent condition with just a couple of very small chips in the paint around the focus ring which can be seen in the photos. The knob on the tripod ring is also showing some silver on the edges which doesn't really show up in the pictures, you have to really look to even notice it in person. The glass is excellent, the couple of flecks of dust that show in the photo are on the outside and landed on the glass between me wiping it off and setting up the lens for the picture. The most important thing is that this lens has been perfectly sharp on every body I have put it on including a 40D, 1D2, 1Ds2, and 1Ds3. Some of my favorite photos have been taken with this lens and I hesitate to sell it, but with the 500mm coming I don't see it getting much use anymore. Price is $750 shipped.
