I not in a massive rush, but wondered if they both work on Windows 10?

I know my "Portraiture" software will in time but they are checking until its bombproof.

Would you recommend a complete reinstallation? I wouldnt mind doing it if they give you a vanilla version, as that would get rid of all the Sony bloatware and the comes with Elements 9 and Office 2010 Starter, and the dreaded Mcafee and PMB.

I just install Premiere & Photoshop Elements 13 on Windows 10 Build 10162. I didn't get any errors messages during setup or launch. Seems to work fine.

I've been on W10 for many months, there's very little that doesn't work. The only thing I can find right now that doesn't work is a particular brand of disk defragmenter, but everything from Adobe that I've tried works fine - reader, CS6.

Do you think there is any intrinsic , i.e. Fundamental technical reasons Sony emphatically state they will not be supporting Windows 10 drivers.?
Other than as they have stopped selling Laptops they just have no incentive to look after their customer base?

W10 should work on any machine that supports XP, W7, or W8. Software isn't tied to hardware, it's tied to the OS. W10 is good.

Should. The gotchas usually wind up being some older peripheral or oddball chip on a laptop motherboard, especially if you're going from a 32 bit OS to a 64 bit one.

Correct. They have literally zero market incentive to put any more resources into a product that's already been sold in a category they no longer sell. Heck, even companies that are still in the business (*cough* HP) abandon their products by refusing to make new drivers for relatively recent models. Ask anyone who had an HP printer when Vista came along. No drivers for you!

Wow, that's crazy?

Crazy but true.
I have a bunch of Sony ES hi fi gear from the 90s when they led the field - amps with 0.005% TDH distortion - the current ones are 0.1%
I guess a paralell was their Technical Audio lead at a terrific price, very similar to their Sensor lead at the moment.
They did the same thing then - just walked away from it all! No spares, no service.

They are a real throw away society company.

I love their innovation........ but they dishonour their customer base in a heartbeat.

Yeah but HP are Saints in comparison to Sony.
The service is crazy bad. Say you want to know what hard disc they put in your laptop the best you get is 500GB 7,200 rpm. To dig deeper takes 5 days minimum when their call centre staff have to put in a resource request on technical!
HP on the other hand have the full detailed specs on their web site.

So much easier.
