Hey gang!

It has occasionally occurred to me that I wished that when I see a thread that I've posted to that it would be nice if I could click on the "Yours" label and it would do an automatic search and show my posts in that thread (I'd normally do a right-click and select to show the results in a new tab). Otherwise, yeah, we can do a search for posts by us in that thread, but still...:)

I completely agree, Tony.

This would be especially helpful in those long, long, long threads in which I know I've posted many, many times, such as the A-Z alphabet game photo-sharing thread. I would like a way to see all of the posts I have made to that thread so that I do not inadvertently add an image that I have previously posted there. As you say, we could always do a search, but that can take a long time to do, compared to the second it takes to click on a button.

"Your" and "you're" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"They're", "their", and "there" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"Fare" and "fair" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one. The proper expression is "moot point", NOT "mute point".

I totally agree as well; instead of plowing through a gazillion posts etc, it would be nice to click once and see them all :)

If you click "replies" number in a forum listing (like https://photography-on-the.net/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=21 ), you'll get a list of people who have replied to that thread. Click the "x posts" on column 2 and an automatic search will be done for that member.

I have tested using "YOURS: XX" plate as a command to do that directly, but the problem is that it is so easy to tap/click that by mistake it will be a problem. That is the reason you have clickable links only on one row of each thread in above listings. One possibility to solve that is to have a delayed hover which then opens a popup "search me", that would not work with mobile but would prevent mis-clicks/taps.

I just tried that on a couple of looong threads. It only showed the posts up to #1,000. The rest weren't available to me. Did I miss something?

Search results are limited to 1000. If you hit that limit you'll need to set some filtering, like a text keyword. The 1000 result limit is purely practical and resource limiting setting, I would not like to make it larger without a very good reason.

In the next version (soon) the search will have pagination and better UI in general, here's a screenshot of thread result list (with a thread peek):

Thanks. I totally get the preservation of resources.

That's pretty nice, but it's certainly not obvious. Maybe if the # link were blue to give people a hint that it's clickable?

Great, but I meant the column of numbers in the "Replies" column. If they don't see a blue number, I doubt that anyone will ever click on it.

When they mouseover the number they'll see it turn red, get an underline, and a tooltip "search". And the column header #/🔎 is also a hint that maybe there is something there.

OK, I don't see that, which probably means that... "dev version 1.37:" isn't implemented yet?

Just blue and underlined in the column would be enough IMHO
Anyway >> Thanks a lot Pekka,
i should say add, it's nice also to discover things that are already here and where we didn't pay attention before, i like it, it's a kind of game :-P
