Can this be moved off of the photograph?

I'm referring to the box that suggests getting more hits and also the smaller box that suggests adding to gallery. I find it very annoying.

Thanks.

insufferably pedantic. I can live with that.

The larger box vanishes if you reload the page. "Add to gallery" would be less obtrusive if it had a translucent background. I find them only slightly annoying.

Speaking of adding to gallery, when I've put a photo in my gallery and posted it later in another thread, the "Add to gallery" notice comes up anyway.

I suppose everyone's level of annoyance is different. You make a good point about transparency.

Transparency makes a command hard to see depending on what kind of image it is on.

I'm not intentionally trying to annoy anyone :)

The "the box that suggests getting more hits" is really an "add to gallery" command with information. It is there as later the smaller button is also there, and I really can't think of any other place: the idea is NOT to make it unobtrusive, it needs to be seen. As Ohlook said, it is not there after page reload.

There is no other place for it really, it can not cover other elements than the image it refers to.

What I could do is to remove the extra texts from it, and leave just
"CLICK HERE to add this image to your gallery." after the full message is seen e.g. 10 times.

I understand that it needs to be "seen" :) So you're saying that moving it to, say, an extra line below the exif data is out of the question? Like move exif up one line and put reminder link just below it?

I know that I can view my own photographs in flickr and on my own hard drive. It's just a tad annoying to not be able to view an unmolested image in the thread without clicking the eyeglasses.

I'm sure I'll get over it, either way. Just wondered if it couldn't be done differently.

Dude. I think you're spoiled. What could be easier than that?
Actually, until reading this thread, I've never hit the little eyeglass thingy
That's a pretty cool little gizmo, Pekka!

That position is not good because it is too easy to click a metadata item (which is a link) or md editor command. With Android there is a very annoying "guess the click" feature which usually picks the wrong one. For that and general usability reasons commands should be separated a lot to avoid mistaken clicks. This is the reason like command will be moved in next version.

I know that I can view my own photographs in flickr and on my own hard drive. It's just a tad annoying to not be able to view an unmolested image in the thread without clicking the eyeglasses.

Others do not see any commands on top of your photos unless they hover it. I could put the add command behind a "hover" (even without a delay), but then it will get unnoticed by all who do not know it is there (and on mobile there is no hover, only "tap and wait").

There is a LOT to think about with every item you see on the screen. Nothing is there by chance....

I'm sure I'll get over it, either way. Just wondered if it couldn't be done differently.

If a better way is found, it will be done.

I'm sure I am just not used to it and that is probably the source of my annoyance. Thanks for the replies.
