I'd like to rent a 6D w/24-105L to compare to my 70D.

Where is the best place for rentals?

Thoughts? Experience?

Locally, as I see Seattle in your profile, give Glazer's a try. See http://www.glazerscamera.com/about/rentals (external link)

But on the national source, one that many have used for lens but they also do cameras, give http://www.lensrentals.com/for-canon (external link) a try.

I would look local too and establish a relationship with them.

Lensrentals or borrowlenses are good web sites.

Thanks.

I'll check out Glazers first.

I'll rent from my local camera shop first. But for items they don't rent I go to Borrowlenses.
I've rented from Borrowlenses 3 times and was very happy with the price and service.

When you see my camera gear you'll think I'm a pro.
When you see my photos you'll know that I'm not.

If using Glazer's, you might also inquire about having a portion of the rental fee applied to a purchase, assuming Glazer's can be competitive with places like Adorama or B&H. In my case I rented a Sigma 17-50mm and the entire rental fee was taken off the cost of the later purchase. Essentially the store matched B&H, but I kept my dollars local.

Checked out Blazers and their pricing seems pretty high. I'll call them on Monday and clarify their pricing.

Well Lensrentals is about $100 with shipping for 5 days which seems reasonable to me for what you are getting. Obviously the equipment is or becomes used, even if you would receive new gear. As a point of interest, I doubt lensrentals can use a Canon warranty which does not cover "commercial service". So repairs come on their dime.

I am pretty sure lensrental's has a 15% off deal going right now too. I have used them as well and they were great.

Lensrentals is doing a summer discount which basically knocks shipping down enough to make it bearable (never forget shipping with rentals!). Probably run you around $100 all after everything. Seems reasonable to me to get 4 days with it to do as you please and put it through the ringer.

They do a system where you can buy what you rent too. But personally I'd rather get a Canon Refurb ($1k) when it comes to the 6D. And 24-105's are dime-a-dozen around here.

Very best,
