Last weekend was "Skyfair" 2015, an annual even put on by Paul Allen's (yes, THAT Paul Allen) Flying Heritage Collection musuem in Everett, WA. The collection started with a few WWII "artifacts" - fully restored warbirds - and has expanded to include several tanks and other WWII military vehicles, plus a growing collection of WWII aircraft, most in flying condition. Some, like their FW190-D-13, will never fly, because they're the only ones of their type in existence, but most are flown at least once or twice a year on Saturdays throughout the summer. For this event, they brought in a couple of Korean War jets, an F-86F Sabre and a MiG-15, from the Planes of Fame museum in Chino, CA. Having never seen these aircraft perform, I was eager to see them fly. Unfortunately, the weather turned out to be crap, but the mist and drizzle cleared long enough for a brief flight demo, and as luck would have it, the gray skies were actually not too bad for shooting "silver" aircraft like these two...
