I had just gotten down into position to snap another bug when I noticed this tick waiting on a blade of grass...

Wonderful captures, as Lester suggests, you do know they work in packs- one distracts you while the others get you :)

Thanks for the comments all :)

Yes, the ticks have been thick this year, indeed. I left this one on its perch... but don't tell the wife ;)

You really should kill them any chance you get. You will regret not if you get Lyme!

Good shots!

I would've killed it, too. I normally leave critters in peace, but I draw the line at things like skeeters, horseflies, ants (around the house), roaches, and if we had them here... tics.

I'd of killed it too. My mom contracted Lyme disease a couple years ago, and still has issues from it.

Wonderful discovery/seeing and capture.
I wouldn't have killed it (unless I planned on stacking it).

And a flame thrower to burn them when you find them.

Seriously, Lyme cost me nearly everything, I have scars in my eyes, I lose balance in the dark, I lost my memory, not to mention the pains and sometimes vertigo etc.... Lyme can ruin lives if not take them.
