Hello everyone. New to DSLR. Just got my new toy and am trying to shoot everything from sports to nature. Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated.

Since you OKed editing and it is SO MUCH easier to show than tell, here is what I did.

1) Cropped most of the non-contributing left and top off. This removed the Area of Interest out of the boring center of the frame.

2) Removed the distracting element, the proximal 2 little stalks poking their heads up from the bottom, and the out of focus seed that drew my attention to nothing.

3) Ran it through Focus Magic set at 1 pixel, just to crisp up the AOI.

4) Duplicated the layer and set the blend mode to Overlay, 70% opacity. This boosted the overall density of the colors.

Just my interpretation. Take it or leave it.

The only critique I can offer is to get out there and find something more interesting to photograph! That's my biggest problem...I can't get motivated enough to get my ass off the chair and out there into nature...I guess ya just "do it".

radtech1: Love what you did!! Thanks. What was posted was straight out of the camera.

As for more interesting objects, those will come too. As I said the toy just came in and everything looks more interesting through the camera.

Composition and Interest improved many times over - Good job!
