We recently bought a house, and while going into it we knew we needed to do extensive foundation repair, I wasnt expecting the "squatters" already living in the crawl space. I finally got around to catching and photographing one of the many california salamanders living in the crawl space. At first he was not happy, but eventually he must have realized I wasn't a threat because he became quite docile. Rest assured, I am in the process of securing a new home via a wildlife relocation service.
Anyways, I used a sort of studio set up under the house, which is a folding sort of light box. Typical macro challenges aside, how would you have shot something like this? My first impression is the back drop I used was not a good choice. I probably should have stuck with black. The green was initailly supposed to seem more natural, but the light temps seem off and it just seems tacky.
second, I probably should have bathed him, but im not sure how that would have affected him.
(BTW, exif is incorrect, this was a Tamron 90mm 2.8 VC)
