Phoenix you're not helping! HA! Well yes you are. The RSS bracket I'm looking at is this one:

or the large....was going to flip a coin, but now I see your model and confusion again sets in.
What is the advantage of your complete circle model?
Also, these things look stout. Can you reach over and pick up the whole rig (camera/lens/flash) via these flash brackets?
Thanks for your input too :)

I wanted to be able to put the flash on either side as well as directly over the top of the lens/camera... for bouncing or creating shadows from the side when it isn't practical to actually have the flash off the camera, out to the side, etc. An example: shooting a macro shot where you don't want the light to be head on. That's another reason I bought a large: it gets the flash just a bit farther away from the body. In many cases, I can clamp the bracket directly to the lens foot or plate but I like how Butch has his set up as well.

Yes, it's stout but I suspect the RRS B87 you and Butch posted is also stout. Anything I've ever purchased from RRS has been well designed, strong and a pleasure to use. Their stuff isn't inexpensive but it sure is nice.

Butch, I love the extender on your setup. I put one on my RRS wishlist for when I use a flash extender.
