bsmotril Goldmember More info Post edited over 8 years ago by bsmotril. | Aug 02, 2015 10:12 | #5 I don't understand these types of photos. I can see there is a technical challenge to be able to do it the first couple times, but thereafter? They are not artistic IMHO, they do not stir any emotion (again, my opinion), and to anyone but an aircraft buff, one looks just like the other. I am not trying to bash, just trying to understand. What is the attraction or challenge in specializing in these kinds of photos? Is it like Shortwave DXing where you try to capture and log different stations around the world but the challenge here is different makes and models of aircraft? Gear List

I can relate, people likely feel the same way about the women's rollerderby I shoot. I was just wondering if there is some kine of spotter network or organization built around capturing such pictures. Gear List

golfecho (I will regret that) More info | I can understand your head-scratching. If you are not an aviation buff, it would indeed seem redundant. But in the same way, how many pictures of Portland Head lighthouse do we really need? It has been captured at nearly every hour, of every day of the year, under nearly every weather condition. Yet, if given the chance, I would run to that same spot that everyone else has shot the scene and take a dozen or more shots myself.
