Not currently, but since I am in the medical sciences...may consider it. There seems to be some nice goals, but how is it being utilized? Years back, I did contribute idle packets to SETI...the premise of the folding project is more impactful, but what specific research projects are being used? On their website, I see lots of different disorders associated with proteomics, but no specific overview of current research projects.

In the past I did the SETI program and the Human Genome mapping one. These days I am a little more wary of open connections to my PC.

I'll be building a new PC in the near future, with an 8-core CPU that I plan to OC to at least 4Ghz and run 24/7, so I could configure it to run F@H overnight.
Does the latest build of F@H also utilize GPU power or is it still on CPU? I'd be surprised if not, since GPGPU is orders of magnitude faster for highly parallel tasks, which I imagine folding to be.

I acquired an expensive camera so I can hang out in forums, annoy wedding photographers during formals and look down on P&S users... all the while telling people it's the photographer, not the camera.

Again, I don't see any specific details on what their current grants are, and what kind of review status they have. When you look at their contribution graph, it goes to 2012 (and number of CPUs had been going down). When you try to find more data on their research, it goes to 2013....nothing current

Yeah, I did a quick search on wiki and have I been out of the loop a while! The last time I folded anything was when the Playstation 3 folding craze happened.

Ah, I remember that. Lots of people complaining that it fried their PS3 and wanting compensation! haha.

I keep wondering if it's still worth it or not. I mean i know the cause or at least the theory of the cause is but it seems to be tailing off a fair bit.

One of them is my work computer, so it starts folding when i leave each day, and runs over the weekend. The other one is my storage PC, only has an I3 dual core in it so only gets 10k PPD on a good WU

I use to have it running on my systems, but in the last few years I've had my own projects setup to crunch numbers. Still kind of tempting to setup a system to devote to the project after my next upgrade cycle frees up some of my current hardware.
