Scott Kelby recent released a 'how to' LR guide that is supposed to serve as a companion to his LR books. On August 13th he is going to release the book for free in PDF form:

I set a calendar reminder!

The way the post reads, it won't be in PDF form but 250 separate web pages.

On August 13th, we’re trying something we’ve never done before…
On that date, we’re putting the entire book online (all 250+ pages), for free, with each page on its own page (just like the book), for a limited time.

With Safari, there's a reader mode that works pretty good at making PDFs.

Thanks! I see it is one page per website. You can either use Pocket (built in to firefox or as an extension for chrome) to easily save pages for later, or alternative Chrome can print to PDF and you can combine the pages back together. Saving in Pocket is easier but combining to a PDF will be more useful after the fact, and is what I'm doing.

That seems like a lot of work. I believe there's a promo code to get it for $15.

It took me about an hour, but admittedly I'm pretty quick with the keyboard. Skimming through it, I don't feel it is worth $15 for me personally. This is pretty basic stuff. Cool concept though!

I skimmed through it myself. You're right...pretty basic. I'll pass.

I like his The Digital Photography Book series. I have a couple. I like his style of writing. It always seems like he's talking to you.

It's been, well, a while since I routinely latched on to resources to help me get up to speed on photography, digital photography, and processing my photos...a lot of books, and then what was available online...

Of course there are the fundamentals, such as "Understanding Exposure", but I'll say that for the digital world, Scott Kelby books were a "favorite"!

As such, I have no hesitation in recommending his work to those getting started in digital photography and in the basics of the "digital darkroom", both in Lightroom and in Photoshop!
