I have a few quick and dirty here - http://www.dpreview.com …hotos/3263915/early-a7rii (external link)

I was going to make them my first post here - but found I needed to downsize them and have a day job sadly. Been lurking for a few months.

I received my A7RII last Wed pm, I have spent more time fiddling with settings, putting in my banks of settings for memory recall for various situations (tripod mode etc) and testing other settings - than I have taking pictures. I shoot Raw + jpeg and always play with raw but I like to see what the camera can cook too. All of these were raw with very quick tweaking in PhotoNinja - I use DXO rather more these days but they do not have the profile yet, but still quite like PN - and Bill has always been very helpful.

I wanted to try different lenses as well as settings and the camera - so these are really just experimental hand held pics as part of my learning curve - no more than that.

First impression in using the camera - size and weight is a non issue for me - with lenses on - especially FE 16-35 or 24-70 I really can't tell the difference - BTW despite the slating it gets I find the 24-70 not too bad overall, not up to 16-35 which I think shines - one of the above is at 35mm too with 16-35 - where it is supposedly 'weak'. I am happy with mine, especially as I got a new one for £500, had I paid full whack I might feel differently.

I like being able to set a minimum shutter speed with auto ISO, I like IBIS with non stabilised lenses, especially the old ones - though I haven't really tried this out fully at all. EFCS is nice, and shutter is much quieter than A7R. Whether I will be able to take better pictures with this over the A7R (which I like very much) I think is debatable - but I think the improvements certainly make it more convenient in some situations, and help minimise user error and so enhance the overall possibilities.

I like it very much.
John

PS Lenses used were FE 16-35, FE 24-70, Contax G 90mm, and Minolta MD 135mm for these few.

Such is life - decide after months with some trepidation to dip a toe in and hit the 'wrong' thread. Apologies - it looked like the right one.

Sorry don't let me make you stop posting, I just wanted to point you to the thread where there's already been a bit of discussion. Would be interested in seeing more of your shots (in the other thread ;) ) and also your views on the 16-35. I'm going to switch from the canon to the Sony version
