I know the pixelstick isnt too loved around this forum (so it seems) but I am IN LOVE with mine! I have been trying to perfect getting a person in the shot with a pixelstick background. The first few attempts have just been in the side yard or at a park and the results look as though they could be post process. I plan on trying to find a water source ( the park has a small dock but the shot would be awkward ) to get some reflection in to show its not post process. Anyways here is two pictures from my first attempt at flash, pixelstick, long expsoure combo! The flash was 1/1 Power (I only played with this for about 10 minutes before getting eaten alive). I learned that I can be shooting way less power and just bumping up my ISO. Which I will be experimenting with next time I go out. I am using rear curtain sync as well. So I am welcome to any comments or cristism! We kind of just picked random "ribbons" and went with it!

These are attractive stylistic photos. You might try raising the height of your primary light source. It would make your subjects look a bit less like they were shot for Chiller Theatre promos.
