This caterpillar is of the Limenitis genus (Admiral butterflies).

Hey Joe, Those are really nice. I saw and shot my first a couple of years ago, only not in a good setting. It was in a part of the state that I didn't think they were in. But since they were there, I learned that there must be Pawpaw trees somewhere not too far away, since this is their only host plant for the caterpillar stage. This led my to start looking for those trees, which turned out to be on the back of some land I have leased.

They are flowering now in AR, and may be GA too.

Wanted to pull of one Butterfly shot using 85mm. Stuck at home and lot of time. Stayed in sun without much movement for some time to get this beauty.
