F2.8 UWA prime for FF with AF ?

In past I tested the 16-35 f2.8 I, II, Sigma 15 2.8 FE (and straighten the FE effect), Tokina 16-28, Tokina 17 3.5

Having a fast light compact f2.8 prime is just superb!
A pity that the Samyangs have no AF.

The nicest ones I tested the Tokina 17 3.5 (out of production) and the Sigma 15 2.8FE
Now I have the Canon 16-35 f4L IS but I don't like f4 lenses.

Aren't there any upcoming +-16mm f2.8 primes from Sigma, Tokina, Tamron,...?

The Rokinon 14mm f/2.8 and 12mm f/2.8 FE are better than AF, they are NO-F. How do you beat that? AF offers nothing in this focal length range.

I also have the Sigma 15mm f/2.8 FE. The only time I turn the AF on is when I want silly shots of a really big dog nose. For most shots with UWA lenses, AF gets in the way.

Hyperfocal distance is about 9 feet with a 15mm f/2.8. Unless you're deliberately trying to create massive perspective distortion, AF seems like a waste of money.

Yep. Only need to focus the 14mm once.

So for weddings (church,...) its also as good as the 16-35 f4L IS (and faster) and for architecture corners are as sharp?

If you are asking about the Rokinon/Samyang 14mm f/2.8, yes, it is 1 stop faster, and it never tries to ruin your shot by auto-focusing. The most annoying thing about my Σ15mm f/2.8 FE is that the AF keeps messing up what I am trying to do! Yes, after the first frame or so, I remember to shut it off.

Won't do it, I read there is much moustache distortion (difficult to correct) and flare du to the bold form...
