I figured why not get out and try to shoot some of the elements in these frigid conditions, instead of staying couped up indoors. looking for some advice on these and just what you think in general. Thanks in advance

Personally i like them, compression seemingly has elimanated a lot of the details in these, i wish i could show the better files. 1 and 4 are the ones i felt were the strongest and want to hear more from others about what they like and dont like. thanks Richard Brown

Regarding the first shot, I feel that lack of any foreground interest makes it a bit dull. You should do well, if you added some element of interest in the foreground in the first shot, which would lead the eye to the actual elements. Canon EOS 40D and 50D, some lenses with curious red stripes and other gadgets. Previously a very satisfied owner of 20D.

Is that a shot of all ice or of mud and ice? It's rather B&W and dark/dull though. It'd be better if it were all ice and a bit brighter. 5D, Drebel, EOS-3, K1000

Is there something visibly wrong with it or is the composition simply not striking? thanks for your response in advance. I like the fourth shot as well maybe i'll try something with a bit more contrast. Richard Brown

Im posting an origional shot similar to the 4th pic(the one of the leaf). No editing at all has been done to this other than resize and compression. I was hoping someone could take the liberty of trying an edit on this in color and possibly monochrome sharing their steps to help me out. I think the hilights are a bit bright but otherwise there was not much detail in the shadows...any one got some advice? Richard Brown

I disagree, maybe it comes from living in MN and actually seeing the beauty winter can hold, but I like the first one, that and the second are my favorites
