I'm not sure what you were trying to achieve in theses shots; I see mostly an empty place surrounded by a city in a distance. I would have loved to see more of the skyline which looks interesting. The city is in the upper right corner would make a lovely shot with some foreground but not as much as depicted. But that's me. Obviously I don't know what your intentions were :)

Agree with itsallart post above. The two shots were not what I was expecting when I clicked to open the link. I was expecting to see close up shots of the downtown Dubai with all those skyscrappers, etc. :D

Thanks and your points are correct.

However, I was attempting to show a city with modern high rises combined with traditional architecture, well planned infrastructure surrounded by sand and engulfed with the distinct desert haze.
I could not get a proper downtown shot as my trip was short and 117F heat was not helping.

I see what you mean.
Just fro future reference: if you are after showing a city with its infrastructure, showing the main road leading to the city would be great. In this particular shot, rotating your camera to the right, cutting off the building on the far left, leaving some of that empty place with a road leading to the city may have accomplished what you intended. I understand the heat :) Suffering similar temperatures right now where I am :)

Thanks for the tips. Dubai was a very beautiful city however next time I hope to be there only during winter especially to see the wild life safari.

I would have maybe panned to the right a bit to make a more interesting shot.
117? Ugh, brutal.
