I had the opportunity of find a few of these beautiful lizards a couple weeks ago. Ive been busy but here are some pics.

Very nice. You got very close to him. Don't you like how they will just pose for you?

Here in Oklahoma, they are the official state lizard. But that "collared lizard" name is so dull. Here we call the a Mountain Boomer. A colorful lizard deserves an equally colorful name.

Thank you everyone.
It is a bit boring name but the lizards are spectacular.
I was able to get close. 6ft is my min focus distance. But my buddy with his 5d3 and new 100-400 got 3 fr away a couple times.
Neither lizard liked that and moved under rocks though. I prefer to shoot from farther unless the subject really doesn't care. Like Gila monsters.
