Hi,
dont know where to post this on the forum but I will be in Algonquin National Park for a few days (8-12th Oct) with my family and I would love to spend some time out with my camera. it would be beneficial if a photo guide could show me the area and hopefully get some great landscapes and wild life of the area. I have done loads of google searches and had very little joy.
if any of you know anyone it would be much appreciated.
thanks
Andy

I will be in Algonquin National Park

Do you mean Algonquin Provincial Park in Ontario Canada?

I just got back from a 4day kayaking trip there. What are you looking to shoot? How are you planning on getting around the park?

The majority of the park is backcountry canoe routes (after kayaking it I can say don't use kayaks!!) with I-60 being the main road through the park. There are some smaller dirt roads and some logging roads but I had no time to explore any of them. You can catch a glimpse of some of Algonquins wildlife right off of I-60. Heck we almost hit a fox that was running across I-60.

There are an estimated 3000 moose in the park.....of which I saw 0 during my 4 days there. But the park is HUGE! There is very little light pollution in the area so astrophotography is great there too.

Here is a great map that shows the canoe and hiking trails through out the park. (Free digital download or waterproof physical maps available for purchase.)

thanks very much.
I have been once before a couple of years ago for a flying day trip. we saw a family of moose on the side of I60 which was great.
I will have a decent SUV while I am there and this will be my vehicle of choice but I will also have a day canoeing with the family. not too keen at present on taking my 1dx out on the water though.....
I am after what ever shots I can get be they wild life or landscape but as I will only have 1 day really free to shoot I thought the best way was via a guide.
will definatly give some astro photography a go though.
thanks
