I am thinking of picking up a 35mm xf lens, however there seem to rumors of an upcoming new 35mm f2 lens from Fuji. Its supposed to be smaller and weather sealed. Once that lens is released (price unknown at this time), perhaps it will be cheaper than the current 35 1.4? or maybe it will drive down the price of the current 35? Should I wait or buy now? (I have the 18-55 and 56, so I am not in a terrible hurry).

I have a feeling the new one will cost slightly less than the current f1.4 version. That said, only time will tell.

If you want a great lens to hold you over and don't mind manual focus, I highly recommend a Olympus Pen F 38mm f1.8. Even on my FF a7S it performs wonderfully and they can be had regularly for around $100.

Yes, I think so too.

However, last week I got a great deal (straight trade with CZJ 35 2.4) for a 35 1.4 and now I have it. Its a beautiful lens and takes fantastic pictures - a keeper for sure. CZJ was a great manual focus lens but I wasn't able to keep up with my toddlers using MF, so the need for AF 35...
