Never so far .... I do want to...

I like Canon... I wish they would get with the program and start making good mirrorless cameras, even their DSLR are slacking...

I really like Canon lenses... for now I got a7R II on the way, that will be my main camera, if Canon ever gets of their lazy asses and releases a decent Camera I might go back.

I started off with a Nikon in highschool. Then to Canon in college, then back to Nikon after graduation and I'm back to Canon. I don't plan on leaving anytime soon.

Canon to Fuji X. Although I still have the Canon for long lenses and fast moving things.

I must be a switcher, although I think my wife has had more husbands than I've had cameras.
That's not true but she is working on it.
Kodak box brownie (circa 1900) stared it all back in 1954.
Following that seemed some sort of natural progression, evolution, finances and greed, mixed with a bit of egocentric behavior. Rollieflex, Speed Graphic, Minolta, Nikon, Canon, now Fuji. There are a few odd things like Polaroid and some I can't remember the name of.
Seems like none of them made much difference to my skills or results. My wife has this piddly little thing and still takes better pictures that I do.
Besides, everyone and their dog has a phone that takes pictures.

Only the young die young.

Too funny;

Adding to my original post, I switched to Canon again with a 7dmk2 about three weeks ago. Today Nikon released the D500, so I am contemplating switching back to Nikon yet again! ☺

Of course I won't be doing any switching until the price drops a bit. At this point it's more like adding than switching as I might be using both systems regularly.

Technically once.

When I was younger, I had a cheap analogue P&S camera (don't even know the brand anymore). In the digital age I've only owned Canon cameras so far (a Powershot A40 and a 550D/T2i). Somewhere in the future I will switch to mirrorless and as it stands for now there's a really big chance that it will be a Sony camera.

Once from Nikon to Canon

Would I switch again? Thought of it, but no, probubly not.. It genuinely depends however.

Settled on adding a second smaller camera to my system

Never. Canon since 1980, but only by default. Went out to buy a Nikon FM (out of stock) and ended up with an AV1 which I still have along with an FD 50mm f1.2. Did occur to me a while ago that Nikon super teles were cheap enough to hang a decent body off the back compared to Canons', so I was nearly an "adder".

Can't say that I've actually switched, but progressed.

I bought a used Kodak Pony 35 camera in 1969 to teach myself about exposure and adjustable settings. Saved up and bought a Canon FTql in 1971; made a little money with that and bought a medium format Mamiya TLR C220 in 1974. I was doing weddings and social events by then so after I'd saved enough (never took out any loans) I bought a used Hasselblad System in 1998 - what a sweet little machine - which I upgraded until I couldn't economically compete with digital. I added a compact Contax Rangefinder (film) body as my pocket camera but by then the "overhead" of film was too much.

Finally in 2005 I migrated over to the 5Dc. I now use the 5D3 and see no reason at all to change systems since it does everything I want. Canon will continue to make superb advances and I'll make those purchases when the time comes. For me it's not worth the time, energy and $$$ to change systems every couple of years. If you enjoy that though, it's all that counts.;-)a

I have never switched my SLR/DSLR brand. I've been using Canon since 1988, when I purchased a used AE-1 from a pawn shop. There are other camera brands in my collection, but they're not SLRs or DLSRs.

I still have 2 of my Canon F-1s. I had 4 at one time. 2 old and 2 newer F-1s. Still have one old F-1 and one new F-1.

Hasselblad 500 C/Ms.

If Leica M would have had a FF digital when I went digital in late 05 I would have gone that route.

Picked up a Leica MM and a 35 1.4 Summilux FLE a little over 3 years ago. That is my camera lens combo that best matched my vision and the way I work so that is what I have been doing and will continue to use to do my personal work.
Just sold all of my Canon gear. 2 5DIIs 24L, 35L, 85L and the one lens i will miss 200 2L. 580 & Metz 58 flashes.

Picked up a new M 262 and a gently used M-E and I had a Zeiss 35 2.8 Biogon and I picked up a 90 cron (I like better than the 85L) so now I am all Leica M even for my commercial work. A couple of Leica 58 used strobes. Couldn't be happier. So this was probably the first time I switched digitally. I did go from film to digital in late 05. When shooting film I had two formats Canon F-1's 135mm and 500 C/Ms medium format when I was film.

I can tell you that I haven't liked cameras as much as I like my Leica M's since I picked up my 500 C/Ms in the mid 1980s. Never really warmed up to Canon with the exception being the 200 2L. Cameras have way to much stuff and menus that are and controls I found difficult.

First camera I bought was a nikkormat in 1972. Inherited a Canon Rebel from employer in 1994. Have been Canon ever since. But if you include the Kodak Brownie that my mom and dad gave me for Christmas, I've changed brands twice. :-P

All I want is just a little more than I'll ever have.
