I was hired to shoot youth sports photos for a commercial web property. We are getting releases signed by parents of the kids, and some of the parents are so excited about the shots that they would like to buy them. My initial reaction is that these photos belong to the client and selling them reduces the value of their photos to them. That said, my contract does grant me such use if the client agrees (they do).
Maybe I should just ask them what size print they'd like and sell it to them. What do you all think? I've always felt that I'd just use these types of images for my portfolio if I'm trying to get more similar work.
