I'm looking to take a picture of a bridge in my area in HDR, but I also want to combine a couple frames so that the stars are really noticeable as well. What is the best way to do this bracketing?

i would do that with manual exposure. Make a couple of exposures for the bridge (as needed) and then make another exposure for the sky.
Then you can blend the "bridge hdr" with the sky photo...
;)
