This small, pink moth was just hanging out on the side of the rocket blower sitting on my desk. It's scientific name is Pyrausta inornatalis.

Very nice Gene. I love the black background, really sets off this beauty. Also nice to find a treasure right there close to probably where your camera was.

One of these days I hope to learn how to get the kind of DOF you're able to on your macro work. I'm glad I have such great photographers to strive to match.

Thanks. The eyes on this moth seem a bit odd too. They're not compound eyes (I don't think) but rather almost look like "normal" eyes.
