Hey everyone, I'm new to using Capture One Pro, but so far am really enjoying it. Was wondering what setting most use for sharpening landscapes and what settings to use for noise reduction as it's set to 50 at default. Should I be turning the noise reduction off for a shot at ISO 100? Seems much different than sharpening in LR or ACR and was hoping for some tips. The biggest thing for me so far is the colors in the images are just soooooo much better to me as far as accuracy and out of the gate, the image just seems cleaner than using LR or ACR

In C1 values aren't based on an absolute scale, but relative to the camera and settings used. 50 points of NR at ISO100 doesn't apply the same amount as at ISO1600, and is also different between cameras at similar settings. In this case 50 refers to 50% of what C1 considers to be the noise profile for that ISO. Even if you shoot at ISO100, Phase One still recommends to use some amount of NR.

Sharpening is kinda similar, and loading Raws from different cameras will yield different default sharpening settings, for instance on my 5D2 it sets the sharpening to around 160 amount and 0.8 radius, and I find it adequate for most subjects. Generally, for RAW sharpening, I try to use some combination of high amount and low radius to counter the effect of antialiasing, less if the camera lacks an AA filter. On a non-AA camera settings of 60 amount and 0.7~.8 radius are enough IMO.

I acquired an expensive camera so I can hang out in forums, annoy wedding photographers during formals and look down on P&S users... all the while telling people it's the photographer, not the camera.

One thing I've noticed is how clean the sharpening is in this program with landscapes. I can use these crazy settings and there's very little artifacts and so much cleaner than ACR/LR.......

Sharpening 1000
Radius 0.3-0.5
Threshold 0
