My refractor with focal length 506mm isn't the ideal focal length typically used for galaxies, but this galaxy is big and bright, and was in the right part of the sky at the right time. Quite pleased with the result.
Thoroughly recommend looking at the full sized image - see how many background galaxies you can see/count

to help find the background galaxies from the NGC, IC, and PGC catalogs. Some are small and tricky, looking like stars, but they're definitely galaxies. Way more than I imagined.
