First I wish to apologize to all. I don't come to the forums much and yet here I am asking a question... I have a sigma 18-125 f3.5-5.6 zoom.
This lens is seldom off my camera. Well today I grabbed camera and lens from my bag, and found my 18-125 zoom range has been restricted to 35-70.
Can anyone recommend a good repair shop? I live in western Maryland, but of course UPS goes everywhere. I found Sigma's repair site, and I am certain the factory repair will go a great job, but my be pricy. For a brief moment I considered grabbing my small screwdriver set and taking it apart myself but better sense prevailed!
Thanks to all in advance
Bo

How long ago did you buy the lens? Sigma has a much longer warranty than some other companies- should be about 3-4years I think...I'd ship to sigma before a third party repair place

I would at least contact Sigma and see if they will give you an idea of what their minimum charge would be. They are located in Ronkonkoma, NY on eastern Long Island.

Minimum charge is likely going to be around $150 to $175.

Ask yourself do you want to replace, get a Sigma refurbished (essentially new) lens, for about twice that number?

$299...http://www.sigmaphoto.com …-contemporary-refurbished (external link)

$279...http://www.sigmaphoto.com …-os-macro-hsm-refurbished (external link)

I see the first thing listed in your interests is air shows. Perhaps you need a bit more reach as well.
