I'm thinking about getting the Think Tank Trifecta 10 bag, does anyone have this backpack yet? I can't find many reviews online. Just looking for some real world experience with this bag

I bought one for my Disney trip.... planning on doing a review in the next few weeks for people to read.

Overall.... I'm super happy with it. But there are some flaws and I will mention them in my thread.

While the trifecta seems a bit sleeker, F-stop has the Kenti on sale which is pretty similar. I'm not sure if its a cyber monday deal but its a good deal for $120.

I have one and while its great I do not suggest using it to hold a mounted 70-200 or 100-400. But its a nice side access bag that is worth a look if you like the trifecta.

I looked into the Kenti but the bag really doesn't compare to the Trifecta in regards to their purpose. The Kenti closer resembles the Flipside bag with larger storage space in top and IMHO the kenti is in another weight class compared to the lighter Trifecta. The Trifecta is an excellent gear dual side access/back access bag that excels in urban/vacationing. It's purpose is to remain small yet effective and does not offer much space beyond the gear. It's upper compartment is small and would not even fit a small sweater where the Kenti or the Lowepro Flipside has larger upper compartments where you can put alot more personal items and both kenti/flipside 200 also will cary larger tripods where the trifecta is really good for just a small travel tripod. I investigated weight considerably for my travels on a bag and the Trifecta offers weight that I wasn't really able to find with other bags w/ the same features. The trifecta weights almost 1lb lighter and that is a significant difference when you are carrying for 10+ hours like I did for my Disney trips.

Again... both have strong weaknesses/strengths and I'll chime in about those in my review. For flight I wouldn't take the Trifecta as I would take something more like the flipside/kenti type bags to hold more personal items.

To me... I have the Crumpler 6MDH and it causes strain wearing across my shoulder so the Trifecta offers the same quick change of lenses and access to camera/stowaway of camera as the shoulder bag offering hands free capability like the shoulder/messenger style while offering a much more comfortable backpack style along with giving rear access, an Ipad holder and a dedicates space for some personal items. While the flipside offers easy access to your gear it's a bit cumbersome swapping lenses and then there is more beyond that... and thats the abilty to hold your lenses w/ hoods on in the retracted position.

The kenti is actually very light and comfortable. I got it because when I hike I often have 2 bodies but if one of them has a 100-400 mounted its a PITA. I don't think a big tripod would work either, its actually a pretty small pack but you can fit an amazing amount of gear.

How is the trifecta for a 70-200 2.8 or 100-400. It looks like its much easier to get in and out. TT is also always a good value, they give you the rain cover and straps etc included. I may end up picking one of these up since the kenti did not work so well with the big zoom.

3.4lb while the Trifecta sits at 2.6lbs w/o the rain pack. Thats .8lbs and when you wear it for 10hrs that makes a difference. Again on the lighter side my bag was around 13lb and heavy was 16... every bit counts when your talking long duration.

The Trifecta is a slightly taller bag... with less top storage meaning you have more length in the camera/lens compartment allowing you to carry a 70-200/5D3 adn still have an 1"-1.5" of space left so plenty for a 100-400. The bag was actually designed for the zoom trinity... the 16-35, 24-70 and 70-200 this is it's primary purpose. The Trifecta is a shallower bag not as thick as the Kenti allowing you to navigate through crowds slightly easier without bumping people and it's a smoother outer shell so nothing to hang up on anything either.

It appears the Kenti side access is smaller opening than the very large opening of the Trifecta. I'm not downing either bag... the Kenti purpose are for hiking... it has a water tank in it for hydration and larger upper compartment.

I just think the Kenti/Trifecta are two seperate purpose bags... easily justifying the owning of both depending on duty requirements.

I don't disagree that the trifecta is lighter and has a different purpose but the Kenti is not a really serious hiking pack. Its more for a small kit.

The smaller side opening of the Kenti is too small IMO for larger lenses which is why I am interested in the Trifecta. It may be on my Christmas list :-}

To the OP. Think tank does have a video review on its website.

I just ordered an Airport Essentials bag for my trip to Disney in January, I use a Crumpler 4 million dollar bag to walk around with my 6d and 24-70 attached. I was interested in the trifecta but couldn't find too many reviews on it

The ability to have your 5D3 size camera w/ 24-70 attached in your hands taking a photo of your kids right before the ride comes up to jump on and sling the bag over and put the camera away and jump on the ride with them is the reason I went with the Trifecta... otherwise I would of just taken my Streetwalker Pro which is what my buddy took.... added to the benefit of swapping lens the same style by slinging it aroudn to the other side and swap a lens makes the Trifecta a hands free never set the bag down option which excelled for my needs at disney. I wore that bag for 16hrs a day each day for 3 days and 10 the 4th. The bag is everything I ever wanted in a bag... Love this damn bag.

Will either Trifecta 10 or the Kenti accommodate a 5D MIII with a battery grip?

As far as the Kenti, This is a pretty in-depth review. http://dancarrphotography.com …tography-backpack-review/ (external link)

You can email F-stop, they are good with responding.

I don't own a grip but I would suspect it would not be ideal. The opening is pretty tight with my ungripped 5d2.

I did manage to adjust the middle divider so its easy to get my 100-400 in and out now but the other size is a bit to small for a second body with a lens attached. At least until I get my Fuji :-}

Have you done a review on this bag yet? I'm thinking about picking one up for my trip to disney after hearing how much you liked it
