Problems burning to CD - Win2K/Adaptec

I've got a problem burning images from my Canon A70 to a CD.

I'm running Windows 2000 & using Adaptec CD Creator 4.02d to burn.

I get the pictures off the camera using the supplied 'Zoom Browser EX'. I can view them on my drive without a problem.

I run the CD Creator & can locate the image files in the explorer half of the program window. I grab them and try dragging them to the bottom & the screen flickers, but nothing happens.

I tried copying them to my wife's computer (also WinK/Adaptec) and had the same problem.

Here is the odd thing -- if I use WinZip to zip the entire directory, then unzip it, the un-zipped files can be burned without a problem.

Anyone seen anything like this?
Matt

When I click on the About menu item, it says:

Adaptec Easy CD Creator
Version 4.02d

can you burn other files to CD? As far as I can remember easy cd creator and adaptec 4.xx have difficulties together.

I would recommend trying Nero from www.nero.com (external link) - you can try it for free.

If in doubt, I shut up...

Gear: 40D, 12-24mm AT-X Pro, 17-85mm, Sigma 150mm Macro Sigma 100-300 F4, 550EX, other stuff that probably helps me on my way.
