Just got round to trying my Jinbei HD600V out with the Phottix Odin HSS triggers. Ok ,so transmitter off the camera, receiver plugged into strobe. strobe in HSS mode, so far so good, as soon as i press the test button I get a consistent 3 second delay before it fires??? (head on fast recharge} power is as low as it can go as well. Anyone experience this ? Is there a delay function that I don't know about? TIA.

Hi, If the Odin TCU is off the camera, I think 'Test' only tests the link (not power) and the delay may vary by Group.

Which firmware is loaded on the TCU and Odin Rx?

Try 'Testing' by seating the TCU in the camera's hot-shoe and using the camera's shutter button (wasting a shot).

(Also, in the UK, where did you source your 600V? TIA)

Head came from Godoxstudio-uk. (Ebay)

Yes it does only test the link but should still fire instantly, tcu already tested on camera, no diff, firmware im not sure on, need to check, identified it as trigger problem as tried it with supplied jinbei trigger and works fine, but they are not very robust hence i was going to use the phottix, this the same light as the adorama roverlight and i 've seen footage of them using the phottix odin.

Hi, We may be at crossed purposes . . . but pressing 'Test' on an Odin TCU does and 'should' have a delay. OTOH, taking an actual shot, everything should sync perfectly. If 'HI' appears on the TCU screen, and SS excedes Max sync, then the flash should start before the first curtain moves - if 'HI' is absent, then the trigger is on first curtain completion.

The test fire delay was introduced to the Odin to allow for light meter readings. Otherwise the light meter would only read the low power pre-flashes.

Hi Elv, i have pmd FH about this, didnt know you were on here. As said taking an actual shot after metering has the same delay.
