Nowadays the riders wear safety vests, so if they fall off the vest inflates. Its just like a car air bag!, hence the small amount of smoke on the instant inflation

Thanks. I have 5d MKIII and looking to get 70-200, but hung up on the 'IS' question, to have or not to have. I have the 100-400 but can get close enough for shorter length.

Sometimes even the 70-200 was to much lol

Looks like I need to dig deeper maybe. What would you go to if the 70-200 was over the top?
