Failure in a nearly three year old Oben ball head resulted in a cracked column on the Oben tripod. Sent the tripod / ballhead in to Oben's customer service. They warned that resolution could take up to 6 weeks. Within 10 days I received an offer to replace the combo with a current similar unit but was warned the ball head would be out of stock until November. When I received the info from Oben I was also given the option to get a cash refund from B&H ... chose that path and b&H took care of it right away. They gave me credit to use for a new tripod but made it clear that a cash refund was an option if I preferred.
My new unit is on the way.
THAT is how customer service is done.
