If you have ever wondered what you saw, a Coopers or a Sharpie, this will definitely help you identify it, it's the best I have seen.
(I didn't see that this has been posted here, so 'oops' if it has... ) :)

A tip: I saved this page from my Firefox browser by right-clicking and using, "Save Page As", it will put the contents in a folder, but, the HTML Index page will be outside of the folder. What you will need to do on your Desktop (or where you saved it) is to make a NEW folder, name it what you want, then place the folder that you saved from the web in there. If you place the HTML inside of the first folder you cannot get the 'stuff' to work like it does online.
Note on the web page, this is interactive, if you place your cursor over the descriptions below the images you can see that it highlights that to a blue color. If you click it, you will see that it shows you comparison images so that you can 'see' what you need.
This is why I saved it rather than just Bookmarked the page, if this page is updated or, whatever, the link 'may' change, then it'll be lost, so I saved it to a folder on my computer.
Of course, do this for personal use only, it's not mine, but I don't plan on using it for anything other than checking identification.

Now if they would come up with a way to identify the juveniles between the Sharpie and Coopers life would be a lot easier.

I guess I should have read the entire thing...I see they have identifiers for the juveniles as well.

I haven't even read the entire thing myself, but, if they can do this, why don't they do ALL of the Warblers too! :)
The people that made this thing did a good thing, I know it helps me, and I sometimes know the differences between the two hawks, but a lot of times, not. heheh

The above information came from The Cornell lab's webpage called All About Birds. The link is http://www.allaboutbirds.org/ (external link) There is a list of things at the bottom of the page that is very interesting, such as; their fantastic Bird Guide, eBird, and projects such as Feederwatch, NestWatch, Celebrate Urban Birds, Great Backyard Bird Count.

I've used the Bird Guide for the last two years when I found it. It has identification info, range maps, sounds, sometimes video clips, similar species, regional differences and of course photos (usually quite a few). Just about anything related to birds (in the USA).

Hope this helps.
