I just had this one idea last night, though it might sound crazy, i'm just wondering if it'll work. Ok, i obviously have a G6 as it says in my signature, i was wondering, if, just like i can hook up my cmaera to my laptop for remote shooting, could i hook it up to a PDA and use that screen over the G6s? Because when i'm using manual focusing on the LCD for macro shots, it's kind of hard to notice the change. Any of you guys got any thoughts on this?

Look at page 40 of your software manual.
The camera can be controlled to a limited extent, but nowhere near as much as it could have been. or should have been.

There are remote control applications for the PC but I'm not aware of any for the PDA. I'm sure one could be written if there were a demand. If you want to use a laptop, I recommend Breeze Systems PSR Remote

You'd need to find a PDA that supports USB as "host". Most PDAs aree set up as "accessory" devices; your computer is a "host" device. Some, like my (no longer available) Toshiba e800 support, through an auxiliary cable, keyboards, but I don't think they do too well with high-speed devices. Even if they could, the graphics engine on a PDA isn't all that fast, so you'd either be moving very slowly or you'd have incredible lag behind where you actually are focussed. My A80 allows zooming into the center of the frame when in MF mode. Would that help enough?
