I mean did you sell your Canon 50mm 1.4 and buy a Sigma 50mm 1.4 Art? Worth the upgrade?

Rather than swap 50mm's, I think I'll keep my Canon 50mm 1.4 and buy the Sigma 85mm 1.4. Are there any better 85mm 1.4 brands than Sigma?

Looking into it further, Sigma, Canon and Nikon are no match for Zeiss Otus lenses. Unfortunately, the Otus are manual focus only. Deal breaker.

dodgyexposure Goldmember More info | Aug 23, 2015 21:01 | #6 I did, but it wasn't a direct swap. I had a Canon 50/1.4 and sold it because I received an offer too good to refuse. When I came around to buying a new fast 50, I bought the Sigma Art. It is a lovely performer, especially wide open. Much larger and heavier, though. Cheers, Damien

The Zeiss is better for landscapes, the Canon is sharper at closer distance (wide open). 6D, 20D, G7X
