Hello,

I am in the need to start looking for a system to trigger two cameras at once for a sporting event coming up in a month. The cameras will be about 100 feet away. From my research, it seems that PocketWizard Plus III will be my answer to this question.

Can you please give me some advice?

There are several set-ups which can fire cameras remotely. I have both PW III's and Yongnuo 603C's. There is a SIGNIFICANT price difference! For such a short distance the Yongnuo's will work just fine. I can get almost the length of a soccer pitch away and have them fire. One downside is that I cannot easily tell if the camera is actually firing, one has to go on faith.

Yes, A huge price difference. $30 compared to $200. What I do enjoy about the pocket wizards is the ability to add another for flash and zones, but again each one adds another $100 to the mix.

I plan to use this on a soccer pitch and cycling events. For soccer, setting the remote camera behind the net. However, It would be nice to select the camera to sync or not so its not going off while the master camera is in the middle of the field. Same for cycling...remote camera on the inside of a turn, master camera on the outside and looking down the straight.

I did find the inability to separate the firing of the cameras troublesome sometimes. If the Yongnuo is mounted on your "local" camera, then both fire when shutter pressed. At one point I taped the Yongnuo to the tripod foot of my 70-200 and positioned the ring so I could use my thumb to press the button on the Yongnuo. A couple of times I strapped the Yongnuo to my monopod and would fire it that way.
