No I won't be first to try. Rarely do I use flash, only when I have too!
The el cheapo Rokinon will have to do :)
Here is the one I have:
http://www.thephoblographer.com …four-thirds/#.Voi5ZPnR-Uk (external link)

I've already learned it will not work with electronic shutter.

Forgot to say if I was buying again I'd get the Nissin. I have the i40 for my Sonys and think it is fantastic/small.....the Rokinon is
rather large for the GX8.

No one has issues of contrast detection? I was really hoping for a hybrid phase detection/contrast AF.

Would have been nice since they were updating the sensor anyway but I have no issue with target focus acquisition speed...MFT is just fast. The low light/star focus is awesome.

Oh I could never get the Rokinon flash to work :( It worked on the GX7, a d I tried every setting known to man.

I'm considering adding some sort of flash with my gh3 and omd em-5. I've been sitting and waiting for some miraculous killer MFT body. So far the EM-1 is getting old and I may just pick one up for it's hybrid phase detection. I was choked discovering the gx8 using old contrast detection :(

One of my favorite ways to waste time occurred over the weekend. Wandering around a car & bike show. Some of the things that caught my eye

And it's pretty reasonably priced too. $1799 is well in the ballpark I think. Interested to see how well it tests, out in the real world.

Looks like April before it ships.
I'm already in and will of course post up pics if/when it happens.
Adorama got my pre-order, they were the first to spam my inbox!
I think we're headed to Svalbard & Iceland end of May, would be nice to
take it along.

Had a bit of a wander around a vintage truck & machinery show this morning. Ended up shooting people. With the camera of course. And some machinery :)

Speedync I love the 'one man band'! I bet he's good too!

On the PL 100-400g, if it gets here in time I'm taking it to Svalbard for walrus..dont know what kind of test that'll be but will be fun.
Currently we're in Moline Illinois, home of John Deere. Historically there are eagles here this time of year but you can't prove it by me--it's been way too warm for them so far :(
Regardless, lots to see and shoot while here-

Been a bit lax of late :) Anyway, picked up the Panasonic lens conversion kit for the GX8. Consists of a fisheye, wide angle & macro adapter. I was only interested in the wide angle, but they came in a kit, which I got for a really good price, so no complaints. At all. Here's afew test shots from the adapter on the 14 mm f/2.5.

Suffice to say, I'm rather pleased with it, considering the size & weight of it. Gives me about 20 mm full frame equivalent, roughly.

OK I found the conversion lenses.....are they only for the power zoom 14-42mm ??
I've got the 14-42mm II but it's not a PZ.

Tell me more, I don't know of this ?????

What they are, is a set of lens adapters that screw onto the front of an existing lens, by the filter threads. You screw on an adapting ring, then the separate conversion lenses snap onto the adapter ring, much like a lens hood. If you google Panasonic DMW-GCK1 you will get the full picture. The kit consists of 2 different screw in adapter rings, and the 3 conversion lenses I mentioned. Just to give you a bit of an idea of size, here's the WA lens compared to a Canon rear lens cap :)

I can now shoot about 20-21mm equivalent at f/2.5 :) With the size & weight penalty of about a lens hood.
