There is a "rule of the third", which has been taken into consideration when you frame a shot in the viewfinder, it's the most eye pleasing way of compose a shot. If i were taking this same shot in portrait, I would've filled the shot with the blue sky... the base of the building close to the bottom of the picture. or i would've zoomed in (using your newly increased focal length) and concentrated on that light at the top. another option would be to step back... take a landscape style pic.. with the house off to either the left or ride side of the pic (depending on what landscape is around it). I want to take great eye catching photo's. I love to learn. Thanks again to everyone, for all the advice.
