Agreed, it is a focus problem ... wait, it's a great shot, it fits the title perfectly!

Can you elaborate on the problem a bit more please? I assume that you're seeking an answer of some sort. Which lens used? Where did you focus on? What focus distance? What aperture? What shutter speed? etc.

It's not an easy picture to read vis-a-vis a focus issue, but it looks like there might be two separate problems - first, the depth of field (dof) is very shallow, so whatever would be in focus would be limited to a small range.

Second, it's hard to find a part that is sharp - my best guess is that the petals in the lower center region show the sharpest red dots on the white background. If that is indeed the plane of focus, then that suggests a very shallow dof. So, perhaps you were shooting very close with the aperture wide open - that would probably give you a very, very shallow dof.
Your picture file did not include any EXIF data so we can't tell what shutter speed and aperture settings were used. That might give us some additional clues, if you want to give us those numbers.

You either were closer than your minimum focus distance or used too wide an appeture. Flowers with a lot of "depth" can be difficult to get everything in focus because of the DOF needed. Tripods are often suggested to be able to use a long exposure.

You could say that life was like a vase of flowers, you never know what you are going to focus on.

If at first you don't succeed, consult the forum!

lol..i love this site. looks like you probably moved in too close to the flower resulting in nothing really being in focus...you have to be very steady with flowers

Hey Beachgirl! See if you can beg, borrow or steal a dedicated macro lens and shoot again using f/16 or smaller in real good light. You also could use and extension tube with your existing lenses.
