50mm f/1.2L went missing

Was looking at what lenses would face an update then I noticed the 50/1.2 wasn't in the lineup.

A typo perhaps or something to look forward to in the future?

Happens sometimes when new lenses are announced and the catalog updated.

I noticed this too, could not believe it! Something is not right, though they were hawking the new 50mm f/1.8 STM.

Agree, I don't see it either. I suppose it could still be a web caching effect, but it's been more than 24 hours. I love my 50mm f/1.2L, so hope they are not discontinuing it, nothing else (at 50mm) has the same properties.

I think that after i have shot this wedding i have this weekend, i'm going to sell my 24-70 and get my hands on this lens. I have been browsing all the threads and feel it would really work well for me

If I had to choose between the two, I'd do the same. I think fear of it's demise is overstated, so no need to rush.

My issue is the fear of lack of zoom, I think that zooms have made me lazy so i need to get back to using my foot zoom more.

Maybe in your part of the world but it was not listed for only a short bit of time when I looked.

I wouldn't worry too much this is not the first time that a lens has gone MIA from the list on the Canon USA* website when a new lens has been announced. It probably won't be the last either. I have also seen case where web caches have not updated very quickly, sometimes I have a feeling it is Browser/machine level issues that are to blame. Especially if you are viewing from a 3/4G mobile device. In the past I have made updates to a website and it has taken a couple of days before I could see the update on my mobile device, and that is after doing the update from the mobile device.

*I don't know if this is something to do with Canon USA specifically, or just the very US centric readership of POTN tending to default to linking to Canon USA.
