Hi guys, I have a Micro Sd card that has been damaged, it looks intact but the case is cracked & falling apart... I'm thinking of sending it to a data recovery company but fees start at 175.00. The card is old (only 1gig) but has pics that have not been saved anywhere else and can't be replaced. (no need for backing up data advice, this was the only card not copied) Anyone have suggestions?

Am I reading too much into that statement? It sounds like you can access the card, or is that not they case?

The obvious suggestion would be to put it into an adapter and read the data yourself, since it looks intact. But I suppose you have already thought of that yourself.

I got it into an adapter and plugged it into my PC but PC does not read, also will not read on camera either.. When I say the card is intact I mean not split into 2 pieces, no exposed chip or wires.

Well, then you have to send it away!

(Unless you want to try another adapter... :-))

Sounds like it's time to decide if the images are worth the gamble of $175 to you. I've never damaged an SD or CF card, have had 2 micro SD and one XD card get damaged, despite being careful with them.
